Desktop computers, laptops (for personal as well as office use) are used almost everywhere in the world and thus also account for large amount of E-waste generated every year.  Physical shredding of desktop and laptop computers is important from security point of view to avoid misuse of any stored data. Besides this, shredding is also important for futher processing like metal recovery and recycling of components.

Amey Engineers has developed  robust and heavy duty SM HD series of dual and four shaft shredders which can effectively shred such e-wastes like whole laptop computers, desktop computers (even whole CPU cabinet including SMPS, Hard-drive, motherboard and all other components), monitor displays etc. SM HD series of shredders can also shred all computer peripherals and other e-wastes. 

SM HD series of shredders are powered by 3 phase IP rated TEFC induction motors ranging from 25 hp to 120 hp and these shredders use AMEY-make in-house designed  high safety factor gearbox for velocity reduction and torque transmission. SM HD shredders are equipped  with case hardened alloy steel cutters of 270 mm diameter and come in various cutter-tooth configurations. Linear cutting speed is around 39 m/min.  Throughput of the shredder is between 300 to 1000 kg/hr. (For custom models, even higher throughput is available).

Other optional accessories include dust separator arrangement, discharge conveyor arrangement, various feed hopper configurations.
