About Hard-Drives Shredder

Hard-drives are portable storage devices used for data storage and are generally associated with all sorts of computing devices. Hard-drive shredding is important as hard-drives may contain confidential or classified data, hence along with magnetic de-gaussing, they are also physically shredded to ensure complete destruction of data along with the drive. Besides this, hard-drive shredding is an important pre-process before recovery and recycling.

Amey Engineers' SM series of dual and four shaft heavy duty shredders are well suited for shredding all types of hard drives (HDD, Solid-state drives[SSD], flash drives etc.) SM series of shredders are powered by 3 phase IP rated TEFC induction motors ranging from 15 hp to 40 hp and torque is transmitted to the drive shafts via pulley and worm-box reduction mechanism. Drive shafts are of alloy steel and duly toughened whereas cutters are of hardened alloy steel type and come in various cutter configurations (Milled, milti-point tooth roll type etc.). Cutter diameter is 220 mm and linear cutting speed is around 24 m/min. Standard feed widths across SM series shredders are from 310 mm to 810 mm. Throughput obtained is around 100 to 500 kg/hr across standard SM models. (Custom models with higher feed widths and throughput also available).

Other features include:- Robust and vibration free construction, low noise operation, ease of serviceability, low maintenance, less down time. SM series of shredders are available in M.S. or S.S. MoC.

Standard models in SM series include:- SM 300, SM 400, SM 600, SM 800.

For even higher feed load and throughput requirements, SM HD series of shredders are also available.
